"George W. Bush destroyed the Republican Party"

So says Peggy Noonan. Over his tenure, Bush has fractured the party’s coalitions and set them against one another. The result is the contentiousness now seen in the nomination process.

Couldn't agree more....and I voted for the idiot twice. It was easy to say "he is the lesser of 2 evils (Kerry / Gore)" but ultimately that is proving to be somewhat short sighted. However, the bigger problem is the GOP has morhped into the Democrats of the mid-90s - willing to give everything to anyone and losing touch with its core values - small gov't., lower taxes, etc. How ironic that a socialist state like France or Russia now have lower tax rates (personal and corporate) than the US does - and this happened under the GOP watch. ITs enough to make a life long GOPer seek comfort from a good friend named Mr. Walker or at the very least feel like he is democrat......ugh!
