Catch Me On CNN

You can see me this weekend on CNN's program "On The Story" airing Saturday night at 7:00pm (EDT) and Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm (EDT). I'll be talking about the media's coverage of the Dick Cheney story and how I think it's gone overboard.

I'm watching now and I have no idea why you were chosen as a guest on this show.

A good indication of a blog's popularity is the number of comments your blog generates. Other than me, you have so few comments, even when you're announcing an appearance CNN.

Your comments on the show are indicative of a lack of knowledge on the very topic you're asked to discuss.
For example, the interest in Cheney's intoxication level was fueled by the conflicting comments by Armstrong ('there was no drinking...oh wait, there was drinking') Then her correction that beer may have been consumed was scrubbed on the MSNBC website. Cheney then finally admits to having a beer...it's too strange. And this is only one example why this story has legs!

You need to read up a bit or you won't be taken seriously. However, the strategy of pretending to be a centrist may be your only hope.

Raging: I attract a more thoughtful (rather than raging) audience, so most people aren't steamed enough to comment. Plus, this is my new site, barely six weeks old. It takes longer than that to gain steam. I've been writing about politics for awhile. CNN didn't just stumble upon me.

As for Cheney's drinking. Nothing can be proven so I won't speculate. But there sure are a lot of people that really, really wish it to be true and that's why I think it's been talked about so much.

But I do like your suggestion that I'm only prentending to be a Centrist. Trust me, I'm not that clever. And if you read more of my writings, I think you'll find me highly critical of Republicans as well as Democrats.

We live in a partisan time where people are unwilling to have civil discussions. I hope you and anyone else who comes here to criticize me will stay to honestly debate me and others.

Well, Alan, you finally seem to be attracting abusive, willfully ignorant commenters. I guess that means you're a success now!

Tom, you should read some of the stuff that was e-mailed to me directly. I had no idea I was such a Republican-loving jerk. This might come as a surprise to all those who've called me an America-hating liberal in the past.

Such is the way of politics, I guess.

Alan,

I would be remiss not to add to the comments on this post. While I think that you suck (mostly at racquetball)...we all have to suck at something. Oh, and I hope that thing about Scott McClellan isn't true. :-)
